Like his musical hero, Rob Garrett was born in Brooklyn, NY.
In May 1974, his parents moved the family from New York City to the Las Vegas Valley, where, two years later, he witnessed his first Neil Diamond concert when Diamond debuted in Las Vegas to record crowds at the Aladdin Theater for the Performing Arts (now “PH Live”) in July 1976.
Garrett went on to see him multiple times across the country—right up until Diamond’s final U.S. concert at the Los Angeles Forum on August 12, 2017.
In 1980, Garrett started his own band, “Rock n Roll Heaven,” and enjoyed a decade-and-a-half career in Las Vegas and across the nation before making the move from lead singer of a cover band to a full-time tribute performer dedicated to one of his childhood heroes.
In 1995, Garrett was selected by the legendary Paul Revere to portray Neil Diamond in the world-famous “Legends in Concert” review.
What was meant to be a short engagement turned into a three-year success.
By August 1998, Garrett was back in Vegas and continued to perform with “Legends” for another two years before deciding to launch his own show.
He began a nationwide performance schedule, building a devoted fan base along the way—earning the title “King of Diamonds.”
He continues to draw packed houses nationwide, often in venues reserved for national acts.
Garrett has also received multiple accolades, including “Male Tribute Artist of the Year.”
“Since Neil Diamond retired, I’ve felt a strong sense of responsibility to keep his legacy alive for future generations. It’s something I never get tired of doing,” he said.
